Leg Transplant...Stat

During a very...energetic... sparring session, I ended up being submitted with a calf crusher, the second time in a week. This time may have been my own fault, but it was by far the worse. As a result, I have had to call upon all my experience in healing injuries. RICE wasn't an option, but I did manage IIC (Ibuprofen, Ice and Compression). When I say Ice, I mean Deep Freeze spray, which is a main stay in my training bag, it works wonders as soon as an injury occurs.

Right now there is a focus point in my right calf where the pain is isolated. The next step I believe will be a day of rest, followed by deep heat tonight and tomorrow.

20/07/09 - 26/07/09

Bike - 34.3 Miles Remaining
Pool - 2 Miles Remaining
Crunches - 700 Remaining
Press Ups - 700 Remaining
Leg Raises - 700 Remaining
Bridges - 700 Remaining

I need a plan. I have a plan.

In a little under 70 days, I will be hopefully entering Ground Control 6.0. In this time I need to drop down to about 78kg, while maintaining/increasing my strength. My difficulty? Lack of money. So I require a plan.

Diet
Low calorie, high fibre, high protein. Meaning lots of fruit, veg, wholegrain cereal, skimmed milk, and protein shakes. This should help cut down on my fat.
5-8 Meals a day to maintain a high metabolism.

Exercise
Every day - 100 x Bicycle Crunches. 100 x Military Press Ups. 100 x Leg Raises. Stretches, legs especially.
Every week - 40 miles on bike. 2 miles in pool.

No time like the present. I'll keep all results on here of course =]

Ground Control to Major Tom

Ground Control 6.0 has just been announced for the 27th of September. Obviously this has peaked my interest, and has given me a goal now to train for. My weight is currently hovering around 80kg, so I will either fall into U80kg, or U87kg. Gives me good time to drop to about 78kg and be the heaviest of my category. God I'm excited =]

Crime and Punishment

Over the past couple of weeks my training and diet regime has... taken a stumble for want of a better phrase. This is mainly due to going on a holiday with a few friends, and money being some what of an issue. BUT, alas, this has changed quite dramatically. Gone are the pizzas and cakes, in with oats and cycling.

I was unable to renew my membership at the local swimming baths, and the gym is just too much money sometimes. So I have been taking out the bike at every opportunity. Since this time last week, I have cycled 49 miles. 14 on the first trip, 16 on the second, and 19 today. I have also been torturing my students at my clubs, as a way of giving myself a bit of an exercise too.

Diet wise, I'm back eating fruit and fibre, enjoying a low fat diet. I have also gained quite an addiction to coffee, which I guess is necessary. It's 04:21 right now, so what do you expect?

I'll try and post more in the morning, when my thoughts and convictions will appear a tad more... lucid. Stay nice =]
