Due to a silly mistake on my part during training last night, I am currently holed up on the couch with a deep freeze patch on my ankle, and a hell of a lot of pain killers in my system.
From what I can remember of the incident, I was enjoying quite an intense rolling session with one of the lads, when I managed to score a triangle around his neck, whilst in guard. I wrapped my arm around his leg to stop him from stacking and he went down onto his side.
Here, I tried to gain mount while still holding the triangle, which I did, but I lost all balance and the triangle loosened, so I tried to return to lying down. The problem was I went over my own ankle, forcing it to twist and fold underneath itself. A very loud crack or 3 later and I was writhing on the floor, suffering from shock. My foot was dead to me and going numb fast.
I managed to sit up and get hold of my painkillers. Luckily I carry Solpadeine Max (Ibuprofen and Codeine) as well as Deep Freeze spray in my bag. From here I gained my shoes and hobbled out of the door, fearing the worst, since I wasn't the only one who heard the crack.
A short trip to A&E later, and a quick prodding by a doctor, I was sent home and told to RICE. I could have said that, but I was made to go just to make sure. Hmph. Now, I have my cold patch, my Solpadeine, as well as some Syndol and I am as drowsy as hell, so off to bed I go =] I'll post again when this has worn off.
