Oh, that injury =] My ankle is still swollen horribly. The pain is localised to the side, on the lateral malleolus, which is the part that's swollen. But, oh well, I'm using it. Less than 48 hours after hurting my ankle, I got back into the pool and accomplished 70 lengths. Since then, I have been to the gym most days (just bikes and upper body), and swimming a mile at a time. Swimming does cause some pain, but my ankle is painless after.
This lack of fighting is starting to get to me. HOW DO I HEAL QUICKER!!!???

Can't make an omelette without breaking a few legs
Due to a silly mistake on my part during training last night, I am currently holed up on the couch with a deep freeze patch on my ankle, and a hell of a lot of pain killers in my system.
From what I can remember of the incident, I was enjoying quite an intense rolling session with one of the lads, when I managed to score a triangle around his neck, whilst in guard. I wrapped my arm around his leg to stop him from stacking and he went down onto his side.
Here, I tried to gain mount while still holding the triangle, which I did, but I lost all balance and the triangle loosened, so I tried to return to lying down. The problem was I went over my own ankle, forcing it to twist and fold underneath itself. A very loud crack or 3 later and I was writhing on the floor, suffering from shock. My foot was dead to me and going numb fast.
I managed to sit up and get hold of my painkillers. Luckily I carry Solpadeine Max (Ibuprofen and Codeine) as well as Deep Freeze spray in my bag. From here I gained my shoes and hobbled out of the door, fearing the worst, since I wasn't the only one who heard the crack.
A short trip to A&E later, and a quick prodding by a doctor, I was sent home and told to RICE. I could have said that, but I was made to go just to make sure. Hmph. Now, I have my cold patch, my Solpadeine, as well as some Syndol and I am as drowsy as hell, so off to bed I go =] I'll post again when this has worn off.
