Born Great?

It might sound like a very random time to suddenly write a blog about this topic, but it'll become clear I can assure you.
Despite what some movies, literature and (unfair low blow?) some religions might say, no one is born great. Sure you can have a natural genetic inkling towards intelligence, or physical prowess, but no one is born great.
Every person who you can admire for what they accomplished worked to get there. How many times do you think a novelist sat there and wrote page after page of worthless shit before creating a best seller? How many times do you think that guy or girl semi naked on a magazine cover had to say "sorry guys, I can't have the double pizza stuffed with chicken and steak tonight, I'm on a diet" to get to that toned body? Or the Olympic athlete who was awake at 5 every morning to start training. Before becoming great all these people seemed like nutters to their friends and family because they didn't do the ordinary thing. They had a goal and were regular people with ambition. So they did what they had to do and now they are admired, as you sit their in your mountain of cushions, eating a fray bentos out of the tin.
Not everyone can go on to do great things, and great things don't have to be being a best selling Olympic model. Just think next time "do I really need this beer, or is there something more I can be doing?"
And on that note, I'm heading to the gym =]
